Central Ontario - Peer Support:

 Emotional Rescue Peer Support Group:
A peer support and curriculum based support group that shares knowledge, information and resources in a supportive, confidential environment to help alleviate and overcome the symptoms of your mood disorder.

You Are Not Alone:
Mood disorders are an illness and are more common than you might think. Estimates range that between 10-20% of the general population will suffer from a mood disorder at some point in their life. A mood disorder may or may not be chronic.

Why Help is Needed:
Mood disorders can have devastating effects, both on the individual sufferer and on family and friends. Mood disorders involve difficulties with thoughts, feelings and behaviours outside of normal fluctuations. These illnesses are currently thought to be chemical imbalances in the brain.

Topics Include:
Depression, Anxiety, Panic, Anger, Positive thinking, Managing expectations, Controlling obsessive thoughts, Worry, Guilt, Assertiveness, Self-advocacy and Managing stress etc.

The group meets weekly on Mondays, including statutory holidays and once a month in July and August.

7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (approximately).
